The GEMMA project (Gestione e Monitoraggio degli Alberi Monumentali) uses innovative aerospace technologies to monitor and manage monumental trees. By integrating satellite data, LiDAR and photogrammetric surveys from drones, environmental sensors, and artificial intelligence techniques, GEMMA enables precise analysis of the structural and vegetative conditions of trees, assessing their phytosanitary status in real time. The project aims to create a dynamic geospatial database and three-dimensional digital models of the trees, which can be viewed and accessed online through a WebGIS platform. These tools allow for more effective and timely conservation interventions, as well as continuous updates to the national and regional lists of monumental trees. Within the project, Latitudo 40 develops the digital platform and creates 3D tree models, integrating geospatial and satellite data using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to ensure reliable long-term monitoring, easily accessible through a dedicated dashboard.
